SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF OLTENIA

The story of the wine that carries the soul of the Danube

In the heart of Oltenia, where the red and sandy soil meets the silence of the Danube and the warm wind that descends from the Subcarpathians, wine is not just a drink – it is a legacy. It is said that long ago, on the hills of Drăgășani, a girl with hair like a vine and eyes green like an autumn leaf loved a young man from a neighboring village. But the boy was called to war. Before he left, he left her a cutting from an old vineyard, saying: “If I return, let us drink the wine from its fruit. If not… miss me with every glass.” The girl planted the cutting in the garden. She cried over it, watered it with tears, cared for it with hope. And the cutting grew, clung to the sun and bore fruit so sweet and fragrant that even today the locals swear that the wine of Drăgășani preserves a drop of true love in it. In Oltenia, wine is not drunk – it is told. Whether it is Novac, Negru de Drăgășani or Tămâioasă românească, each glass brings with it a memory: an outlaw song, a meal in grandma's yard, a silent sunset over the Danube.

SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF THE MOUNTAINS

The royal wine of the voivode's courts

Muntenia is the region of gentlemen, of boyar courts and of vineyards that bathe the hills of Dealu Mare. Here, the wine is sober, intense, with a silent dignity. The soil is fertile, and the grapes grow as if confident that they will end up in glasses worthy of feasts. It is said that, at a feast at the court of Michael the Brave, a foreign envoy asked for water, but after tasting the Tohani wine, he gave up the request, saying: "If this wine flows instead of water, this is heaven." The wines from Muntenia – Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, but also full-bodied white wines – have strength, body, a rustic nobility, with which you slowly but definitely fall in love.

SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF DOBROGIA

The wine with a taste of sun and sea

On the stony hills of the Murfatlar and Sarica-Niculițel vineyards, wine was born from stone, wind and sun. Dobrogea is old – older than all other Romanian lands – and its wine retains the echo of the Greek colonies that planted vines before Christ. It is said that, during the time of the Geto-Dacians, the priests of Zamolxis kept the best wines in amphorae buried in the sand, left to breathe with the sea. When a wine took on the “taste of the sky and the sea”, it was offered only to the gods. Today, this taste survives in the wines of Dobrogea: Tămâioasă Românească, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon. Strong, aromatic, with aromas of honey, basil and ripe peaches, the wines of Dobrogea are full of life – just like the people who make them.

SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF BANAT

The wine of the West, full of gentleness and refinement

Where Latin winds intertwine with Viennese aromas, Banat has learned to tell its story through wine. In Recaș and Miniș, the vineyards stretch in soft circles, like a symphony of hills, and the wine has elegance and balance. A story from Banat says that, during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a count hid a barrel of the best wine in the cellar of his castle, which he opened only at his daughter's engagement. The taste of that wine – smooth, but deep – impressed all the guests. And so the legend of Banat Riesling was born. The wines here are round, honest, friendly. Whether it's a Pinot Gris, a Cadarca or an Italian Riesling, every glass from Banat is an open conversation with the gentle sunsets and the leisurely life.

SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF TRANSYLVANIA

The wine of patience and mystery from the heart of Transylvania

Where fog caresses the horizon and fortified churches have watched over the vineyards for centuries, Transylvania whispers its story in cool, elegant tones. Here, wine is not in a hurry — it is born slowly, from patience and filtered light. On the hills of Târnave, Lechința or Aiud, white varieties such as Feteasca Regală, Sauvignon Blanc or Rhine Riesling take shape with an almost Gothic precision. It is said that in the cellars of the ancient Saxons, barrels were not just containers, but keepers of secrets. An old chronicler wrote that “Târnave wine is like a prayer — clear, pure and with a long echo.” Transylvanian wines are delicate, mineral, with a brisk acidity — like a morning walk through a mountain village. They don’t shout, they speak to you in a whisper. Each glass is a page from an old book, with pages written in multiple languages, but they all tell the same story: that of a patient, dignified, and mysterious land.

SELECTION OF WINES FROM THE HEART OF MOLDOVA

The wine that preserves the gentle speech of ladies

On the gentle hills of Moldova, where the morning mists caress the vine leaves and the grapes ripen to the rhythm of the stories told by the stove, wine was born from patience and prayer. Legend has it that Stephen the Great, wounded in a hard battle, was healed not only with herbs, but also with a wine made in the cells of a monastery. That wine – ruby, dense, with the scent of dried plums and walnut kernels – gave him strength again to mount and defend his country. Since then, Moldovan wine has been sacred: poured at feasts, but also at memorials, present in joy and in mourning. Whether we are talking about Grasa de Cotnari, Fetească Neagră or Busuioacă de Bohotin, Moldovan wines have that calm nobility, like a lady who does not show her heart at first. You have to listen to them, feel them, wait for them.

INTERNATIONAL WINES SELECTION

Wine is not just a drink, it's also a liquid map of the world, a story poured into a bottle, with accents, traditions, and emotions from all corners of the globe.

Each country has its own voice, and in each glass you can hear echoes of history, sun, and earth. We start in the Republic of Moldova, a hidden treasure of wine-producing Europe, where the vineyards seem to be handwritten on gentle hills, and the wines – especially the white ones and those aged in cellars dug into the rock – tell unknown, sincere and surprising stories. From here, the steps take us to Italy, where wine flows with laughter, with long meals and life lived in grand gestures; a Sangiovese, a Primitivo, a Barolo – each full of temperament and tradition. In France, wine breathes distinction – from velvety Burgundy, to solemn Bordeaux or pure Champagne – everything is balance and refinement. We then move on to Spain, where red wines seem to sing with the aroma of black cherries and warm earth, and white wines bring the sea breeze and Iberian sunlight. In Argentina, Malbec is born between mountains and harsh winds, offering intense, mature aromas, with a deep structure and a Latin heart. Portugal welcomes us with native varieties full of personality, with generous Port and wines that recall the ocean, hills and ancient stones. In Chile, the wines have the clarity of the Andean sky – clean Cabernets, round Carmenere, fresh Sauvignon Blanc – a young world with an old soul. And finally, we arrive in Georgia, where wine is not produced, but inherited. In clay qvevri, traditions of over 8,000 years give birth to raw, living wines with an aroma of earth and eternity.

This fascinating world of wine is found in our selection – carefully chosen, with passion and respect for its origins. We invite you to discover the wines on our menu, to taste them, to listen to them, and to let them carry you, glass by glass, on a journey you will never forget.
